CFO of the Future

The role of CFOs has continuously evolved. Against the background of high market dynamics and uncertainty as well as rapidly changing customer demands, they must make increasingly complex decisions in an ever shorter period of time. In addition to the accounting part of their function, they play an active role in the strategic direction of the company as architects of value creation. Thereby, their objective has expanded from classic financial indicators, to including environmental, governance and social aspects (ESG). CFOs today often have three key roles in the organization:

  • Economic guardians that lead an efficient and effective finance function, focused on predictive insights in a volatile world
  • Architects of business value that collaborate with the C-suite to drive strategic change across the enterprise
  • Catalysts of digital strategy that create insights for new business models and realize value in a digital world

In this session, we will discuss what is required for CFOs to use data and digital technologies for better and faster decision-making, in order to lead their companies into the future.
